We may not remember it now, but there was a time when we mocked women who made a long list of what we (at the The onion area mom being appreciated shirt so you should to go to store and get this time) considered “masculine”. She’s “manly” and she wears pants to the street if she can. (horror!), but fortunately, the law won’t tolerate it. We know how this particular battle ended. Women were able to vote and gradually gained most of the legal rights enjoyed by men. And we’ve also won a big part of the culture war – few people think it’s a bit strange for a woman to wear pants on the street these days. But we haven’t had an equal fight to widen the range of “acceptable” behaviors and representations for men. To be clear, it is also less necessary because women have been discriminated against in a way that men have never been. (e.g., there has never been a country where women could vote and men could not)
Women have won the The onion area mom being appreciated shirt so you should to go to store and get this right to wear pants in the street without being ridiculed in the long and arduous fight for greater gender equality. So far, men haven’t fought or won a war to be able (for example) to wear a dress in the street without being ridiculed for it. That’s the thing. . . .women have been wearing pants and shirts/t-shirts for years and no one cares, or notices in some cases if it’s *men* pants (unisex jeans/shirts or even tops) plaid office shirt). wearing pink or pastel colored pants with no pockets or belt loops, they are immediately called transgender. . . . .and not even mention skirts or dresses, lingerie, tights or socks.
